The first Windows installer is in qualification. An unsigned test build of version 0.1.0 was made on October 12, 2026; it is not a public release, and there is no public installer to download yet.
That build passed its package audit and 22 isolated startup and licensing checks on a Windows 10 machine. They covered local session protection, free sizing, refusal of a paid solve without a licence, and the account configuration built into the app.
02Since that build
Engineering work has continued. These changes reach users with the first public installer:
- The native 3-D grid is graded toward the iron by default, which moved every reference benchmark by 0.1–0.4 %. The reference register carries the graded results.
- Time-harmonic eddy currents are solved in solid rotor discs and magnets, with the currents' own field, and checked against a closed form and the TEAM 7 benchmark.
- Imported CAD machines gained temperatures, continuous and short-time ratings, and AC copper and windage losses. See Imported CAD machines.
- Time-domain analysis, with voltage-fed circuits, a turning rotor and an inverter drive, is being built in the solver. It is not yet in the app.
03Plans and pricing
Launch prices are set: Free; Maker at $99 a year or $12 a month; Commercial at $795 a year (founding price, $995 after launch). They go on sale with the first public Windows release. Free runs every solver at full accuracy, one operating point at a time; Maker adds rotor periods, flux maps, drive cycles, coupled and fault studies, FEM sweeps, optimisation and CAD import. See the plans page.
Downloading the installer needs a free account. The first releases are not code-signed, so Windows shows a SmartScreen warning; check the installer's checksum against the download page before running it. Signing follows once sales begin.
04Before the public release
- Installation, activation, refresh and computer release on clean Windows 10 and 11 machines.
- Update, rollback and uninstall checks.
- Minimum system requirements, measured on those machines.
- A dependency and licence review of the installed package.
Accuracy and timings measured on the development build do not by themselves qualify a packaged installer; each release is checked as installed. Linux is deferred: the first release is Windows only.
