ACCESS & LICENSING

Same physics.
Every plan.

Every plan runs the same solvers at the same accuracy, on every core your computer has. Plans differ in the workflows you can run, commercial-use rights and simultaneous jobs.

LAUNCH PRICING

Three plans to start.

Prices set · sales open with the Windows release
01

Free

$0

No card, no expiry.

Learn the machine. Try the workflow.

For learning, evaluation and personal projects. Design a machine and check it at full accuracy, one operating point at a time.

  • Design editor, sizing and analytic sweeps
  • Native 2-D and quasi-3-D field analysis
  • Native 3-D at a single rotor position
  • Thermal network from a solved point
  • Visualize, compare and report

Non-commercial use. One job at a time.

Maker

$99/ year

Or $12 a month.

For the motor on your workbench.

The whole studio for personal, educational and non-commercial work. Selling a few parts from a hobby project is fine.

  • 3-D over a rotor period: cogging and ripple
  • Flux maps, envelopes, efficiency maps, drive cycles
  • Coupled thermal, demagnetisation, faults, rotor loss
  • FEM sweeps and optimisation
  • CAD import · STEP and controller-table export

Personal project revenue below US$5,000 a year. Work for a business needs Commercial.

03

Commercial

$795/ year

Founding price. $995 a year after launch.

For engineering you're paid to do.

Everything in Maker, licensed for commercial work: consultants, startups and engineers designing machines for a business.

  • Everything in Maker
  • Commercial use and deliverables
  • Two jobs at a time
  • One named user

The founding price holds for as long as the subscription renews without a gap.

Students and teachers

Maker may be provided free for coursework after an eligibility check. Email [email protected] about your course.

Teams and larger studies

More seats or more simultaneous jobs will come later as separate plans. If you need one now, get in touch and say what you need.

AT A GLANCE

Choose the workflow you need.

The same single-position solve uses the same numerical method on every plan.

WHAT NO PLAN LIMITS

Your work stays yours.

Accuracy and cores

No plan has a lower-accuracy solver, and none charges for CPU cores. Mesh, convergence and validity checks are in every plan.

Your projects

Designs and results stay on your computer. If a subscription ends, you can still open, save and export everything you made.

Know the limits

A 2-D section does not resolve every 3-D leakage or end effect. A plan’s price is never a substitute for choosing the right analysis.

Read the solver guide

Before you choose.

When can I buy a plan?

Sales open with the first public Windows release. Prices are set; the Windows package and activation flow are still being qualified. See the release status for the current checkpoint.

What support is included?

Paid plans include updates, bug fixes and email support. Axial Flux Studio is built by one developer, so email is answered on a best-effort basis. There are no priority queues or service-level agreements. The software is sold as it is, and its documentation states what each model can and cannot do.

Do I need to stay online?

No. Simulation runs locally. Paid access needs an online check now and then; a verified licence keeps working offline for about two weeks between checks. Projects are never uploaded for licensing. Activation and offline terms →

How do I cancel?

From your account page, any time. Access continues until the end of the period you paid for. Your projects and results stay yours. Renewal and cancellation terms →

What does Free leave out?

Free runs every solver at full accuracy, but one operating point at a time: a 3-D solve at one rotor position, a 2-D or quasi-3-D study, a thermal estimate from that point. What needs many solves (rotor periods, maps over the torque-speed plane, drive cycles, FEM sweeps and optimisation) and the coupled, fault and CAD workflows are in Maker. Analytic sweeps stay free.

Can I move from Maker to Commercial?

Yes. Buy Commercial from your account's billing page; it arrives as its own licence. Then cancel Maker there, and support refunds the unused Maker time. Your projects carry over unchanged. Maker upgrade refund policy →

Where does Maker end and Commercial begin?

If you are paid for the engineering, or the machine is designed for a business, use Commercial. A personal project that sells a few parts on the side is still Maker while revenue from everything designed with the software stays below US$5,000 a year. See the licence terms for the full definition.
